Benefit concert "Music for Rocinha" by the orchestra DIE ARCHE on 10/10/2020

Die Arche orchestra is holding a benefit concert for the Rocinha Music School on October 10th, 2020 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the KU'KO Kultur + Kongress Zentrum Rosenheim.

Fireworks of South American music:

In the modern classic Le Bœuf sur le Toit by Darius Milhaud, original Brazilian music is shaken together into a kaleidoscope full of unexpected refractions.

The young soloist Eva Brockhaus from Rosenheim presents the double bass as a solo instrument. The multiple prizewinner of the "Jugend Musiziert" competition shines in an adaptation of Le Grand Tango by Astor Piazzolla, an Argentine tango in virtuoso artistic music form.

Villa-Lobos' series of works Bachianas Brasileiras combines the ingenious polyphony of Johann-Sebastian Bach with the sophistication of Brazilian rhythms and impressionistic sounds. Heitor Villa-Lobos composed 9 works, mostly for chamber music. One of the two original symphonic orchestral compositions, the Bachianas Brasileiras No7, is played.

It is particularly fun for the orchestra to bring Arturo Márquez's Mexican-heated Danzon No2 on stage.
